Grandma Weaver's Easy Butter
Sugar Cookies
Makes about 30 cookies.
Ingredients:
1 cup butter (two sticks)
1 cup granulated white sugar
3 egg yolks of large eggs (or 4 yolks from small
eggs)
½ tsp salt
1Tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
2 cups unbleached flour
Pecan halves to use on each cookie
Directions:
Melt butter on low flame. Remove from heat. Add
sugar. Then blend and stir in yolks and beat
together. Add salt and vanilla. Gradually add dry
ingredients. Blend until smooth. Form into inch
round marbles and place on baking sheet
approximately 3 ½ inches apart. Place half a pecan
in the middle of each marble and press down. Bake
in preheated oven at 325 F for 10-15 minute, or until
lightly browned.
